dc.description.abstract | Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is responsible for the global coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Although SARS-CoV-2 predominantly causes viral pneumonia, it is also associated with many cardiovascular complications such as myocarditis, acute myocardial infarction, and thrombosis. Spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) is a rare form of coronary artery disease, which a few recent case reports have shown to be associated with COVID-19. The case reported here is a COVID-19 associated SCAD in a patient with no history of cardiovascular disease. The SCAD was treated with stent implantation. | en_US |
