This study was conducted to adapt the validity and reliabilitystudy of the "Difficult Intravenous Access Scale for Adult Patients" into Turkish. This methodologicaldescriptivestudy was carried out in Manisa City Hospital Adult Emergency Department between October 2021 and January 2022. The research sampleconsisted of 100 patients over 18 years of age, who wereconscious, who would be administered a peripheral intravenous catheter, whose condition was not critical or who did not requireresuscitation, and who agreed to participate in the study. "Case report form" and "The Difficult Intravenous Access Scale For Adult Patients" wereused to collect data. The reliability of the scale was evaluated with Cronbach's alpha and constructvalidity with explanatory and confirmatory factor analysis. In the study, the mean age of the patients was 57.54±19.44 years, and it was found that 55% (n = 55) were female and 77% (n = 77) had a chronic disease. The factor loads of the scale itemsranged from 0.366 to 0.852. As a result of confirmatory factor analysis, it was determined that the model showed a good fit (?2/df =2.031). The Cronbach's alpha internal consistencycoefficient of the scale was found to be 0.708. As a result, it was determined that the Turkish version of the scale is a valid and reliable scale for determining the risk of difficult intravenous access.
