Özet
Bu araştırma pediatrik hastaya yönelik nazogastrik tüp ile beslenmeye yönelik hemşirelik öğrencilerine verilen video destekli eğitimin etkinliğinin değerlendirilmesi amacıyla ön-son test desenli ve kontrollü yarı deneysel bir çalışma şeklinde yapılmıştır. Araştırma Mayıs 2022 – Haziran 2022 tarihleri arasında İzmir Bakırçay Üniversitesi Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesi Hemşirelik Bölümü'nde yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın örneklemini, İzmir Bakırçay Üniversitesi Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesi Hemşirelik Bölümü Çocuk Sağlığı ve Hastalıkları Hemşireliği dersine kayıtlı, 3. ve 4. sınıfta yer alan hemşirelik öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın dahil edilme kriterlerine uyan, çalışmaya katılmaya gönüllü olan ve veri toplama araçlarını eksiksiz tamamlayan 61 öğrenci ile çalışma gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın verileri, Öğrenci Tanıtıcı Bilgi Formu, Pediatrik Hastada Nazogastrik Tüp ile Beslenme Bilgi Testi, Öğretim Materyali Motivasyon Ölçeği, Akademik Öz-yeterlik Ölçeği aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Veriler SPSS (Statistics Package for Special Sciences) 25.0 paket programı kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Elde edilen verilerin analizi yapılırken tanımlayıcı istatistikler; sayı, yüzde, ortalama, standart sapma hesaplanmış, verilerin normal dağılıma uygunluk göstermesi halinde student t testi, tek yönlü varyans analizi (Anova), normal dağılıma uygunluk göstermediği takdirde Mann-Whitney U Testi, Kruskal-Wallis test kullanılmış, çalışmada önemlilik düzeyi 0,05 olacak şekilde değerlendirilmiştir. Mevcut çalışma sonucunda her iki gruptaki öğrencilerin sosyo-demografik verileri (yaş, cinsiyet, mezun olunan lise, bölümü tercih sebebi, akademik başarıları hakkındaki yorumları) yönünden farklılıklarının olmadığı, homojen dağılım gösterdiği belirlenmiştir (p>0.05). Deney grubuna uygulanan video destekli eğitimden sonra uygulanan son testten elde edilen puanlarda anlamlı bir artış olduğu belirlenirken (p<0.05), kontrol grubunda ön testten elde edilen ortalamalar ile son testten elde edilen ortalamalar arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark elde edilmemiştir (p>0.05). Deney grubuna uygulanan öğretim materyali motivasyon ölçeğinden aldıkları toplam puan ortalaması 143,00± 13,93 olarak elde edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak hemşirelik öğrencilerine uygulanan video destekli öğretimin pediatrik hastada nazogastrik tüp ile beslenme konusunun öğretilmesinde etkili olduğu bulunmuştur. Hemşirelik eğitiminde farklı becerilerin kazanılmasında sınıf içi öğretime ek olarak video destekli eğitimin müfredata entegre edilmesi önerilmektedir.
This research was carried out as a controlled quasi-experimental study with pre-post-test design in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the video-assisted education given to nursing students for nasogastric tube feeding for pediatric patients. The research was carried out between May 2022 and June 2022 at Izmir Bakırçay University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing. The sample of the study consists of 3rd and 4th grade nursing students enrolled in the Department of Nursing, Department of Child Health and Diseases Nursing at İzmir Bakırçay University. The study was conducted with 61 students who met the inclusion criteria of the study, volunteered to participate in the study, and completed the data collection tools completely. The data of the study were collected through Student Descriptive Information Form, Nasogastric Tube in Pediatric Patient Nutrition Knowledge Test, Teaching Material Motivation Scale, Academic Self-Efficacy Scale. The data were evaluated using the SPSS 25.0 (Statistics Package for Special Sciences) package program. Descriptive statistics in the analysis of data; number, percentage, mean, standard deviation were calculated, student t test, one-way analysis of variance (Anova) was used if the data conformed to the normal distribution, Mann-Whitney U Test, Kruskal-Wallis test was used if the data did not conform to the normal distribution, and the significance level was determined as 0,05. As a result of the current study, it was determined that the students in both groups did not differ in terms of socio-demographic data (age, gender, graduated high school, reason for choosing the department, comments on academic achievement) and showed a homogeneous distribution (p>0.05). While it was determined that there was a significant increase in the scores obtained from the post-test applied after the video-assisted education applied to the experimental group (p<0.05), no statistically significant difference was found between the averages obtained from the pre-test and the averages obtained from the post-test in the control group (p>0.05). The mean score of the instructional material motivation scale applied to the experimental group was 143,00 ± 13,92. As a result, it was found that video-assisted teaching applied to nursing students was effective in teaching nasogastric tube feeding in pediatric patients. In addition to classroom teaching, it is recommended to integrate video-assisted education into the curriculum for the acquisition of different skills in nursing education.
