| dc.description.abstract | Bu çalışma, taksan ve platin bazlı kemoterapi alan meme kanserli kadınlarda kemoterapi ilişkili periferal nöropatinin konfor düzeyine etkisini belirlemek amacıyla kesitsel ve tanımlayıcı tipte yürütüldü. Araştırma Mart- Haziran 2022 tarihleri arasında Sağlık Bilimleri Üniversitesi İzmir Tepecik Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi Ayaktan Kemoterapi Ünitesi’nde gerçekleştirildi. Araştırmanın örneklemini; en az bir kür taksan ve/veya platin bazlı kemoterapi uygulanan 175 kadın oluşturdu. Araştırmanın verileri, Kişisel Tanıtıcı Bilgi Formu, Avrupa Kanser Araştırma ve Tedavi Örgütü Yaşam Kalitesi Kemoterapi İlişkili Periferik Nöropati Ölçeği (EORTC QLQ-CIPN20), Ulusal Kanser Enstitüsü Advers Olaylar İçin Ortak Terminoloji Kriterleri (NCI-CTCAE v5.0) periferal nöropati toksisite kriterleri ve Genel Konfor Ölçeği-Kısa Formu kullanılarak yüz yüze görüşme yöntemi ile toplandı. Araştırmadan elde edilen verilerin analizinde karşılaştırılmalı bağımsız gruplarda t- test ve One-way ANOVA, ölçekler arasındaki ilişki için Pearson korelasyon analizi ve bağımlı değişkeni etkileyenleri belirlemek için regresyon analizi yapıldı. Tüm istatistiksel analizler SPSS versiyon 25.0 ile değerlendirildi ve anlamlılık değeri p<0,05 olarak kabul edildi. Katılımcıların genel konfor düzeyi ile kemoterapi ilişkili periferal nöropati puan ortalamaları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı düzeyde negatif yönlü ve zayıf- orta düzey bir ilişki tespit edildi (p<0,01: r=-0,692). Kemoterapi ilişkili periferal nöropati puan ortalamaları arttıkça meme kanserli kadınların genel konfor düzeyinin azaldığı saptandı. Meme kanserli kadınlarda periferal nöropati, konfor alt boyutlarından ferahlama düzeyinin %41’ini, rahatlama düzeyinin %36’sını ve üstünlük düzeyinin %43’ünü açıklamaktadır. Nörotoksisiteye yol açan kemoterapik ajan tedavisi alan hastalara kemoterapi ilişkili periferal nöropati bilgi ve farkındalıklarını artırmak amacıyla onkoloji hemşireleri tarafından semptom yönetimi konusunda eğitim ve danışmanlık verilerek hastaların konfor düzeyi artırılabilir. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | This study was conducted as a cross-sectional and descriptive study to determine the effect of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy on the comfort level in women with breast cancer who received a taxane- and platinum-based chemotherapy course. The research was carried out in the Outpatient Chemotherapy Unit of the Health Sciences University İzmir Tepecik Training and Research Hospital between March and June 2022. The sample of the research; It consisted of 175 women received at least one course of taxane and/or platinum-based chemotherapy. The data of the study was collected with Personal Identification Form, European Organization for Cancer Research and Treatment Quality of Life Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy Scale (EORTC QLQ-CIPN20), National Cancer Institute Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events (NCI-CTCAE v5.0) peripheral neuropathy toxicity criteria and the General Comfort Scale-Short Form by face-to-face interview method. In the analysis of the data obtained from the study, t-test and One-way ANOVA in comparative independent groups, Pearson correlation analysis for the relationship between the scales, and regression analysis to determine those affecting the dependent variable were used. All statistical analyzes were evaluated with SPSS version 25.0 and the significance value was accepted as p<0.05. A statistically significant negative and moderate correlation was found between the general comfort level of the participants and the mean score of chemotherapy-related peripheral neuropathy (p<0.01: r=-0.692). It was determined that the general comfort level of the individuals decreased as the mean of chemotherapy-related peripheral neuropathy scores increased. Peripheral neuropathy in women with breast cancer explains 41% of relief, 36% of relaxation, and 43% of superiority from comfort sub-dimensions. In order to increase the knowledge and awareness of chemotherapy-related peripheral neuropathy in patients receiving chemotherapy that causes neurotoxicity, training, and counseling on symptom management can be provided by oncology nurses to increase the comfort level of patients. | en_US |
