This study is a quasi-experimental study with pre-test and post-test control groups to evaluate the effect of the simulation and flipped classroom model used in blood transfusion teaching of nursing students on blood transfusion self-efficacy and satisfaction of nursing students. The study was carried out between October 25-December 31, 2022 with 2nd year nursing students (n: 87) who accepted the research at İzmir Bakırçay University Faculty of Health Sciences. The data of the study were collected with the Individual Identification Form, Safe Blood Transfusion Self-Efficacy Scale, Modified Simulation Effectiveness Tool and Visual Comparison Scale. The data obtained from the study were analyzed with the SPSS 25 package program and descriptive statistics, Shapiro Wilk test, Independent Sample T test, Wilcoxon Signed Rank test, Kruskal Wallis test, Spearman correlation were used. While the pre-test mean score of Safe Blood and Blood Products Transfusion Self-Efficacy Scale of the simulation group was 208.07±18.23, the mean pre-test score of the flipped class group was 211.58±23.62, while the post-test mean score of the simulation group was 222.05±22. .90, and the posttest mean score of the flipped class group was 229.71±15.66. There was no statistically significant difference between the pretest and posttest total score averages obtained from the Safe Blood and Blood Products Transfusion Self-Efficacy scale of the simulation and flipped class groups (p>0.05). It was determined that the Visual Comparison Scale mean score of the simulation group (9.05±1.36) was higher than that of the flipped class group (8.93±1.37). It was determined that the total mean score of the Modified Simulation Effectiveness Tool scale of the simulation group was 85.69±8.60. As a result, it was determined that both teaching methods used to increase the self-efficacy and satisfaction levels of nursing students regarding blood and blood product transfusion were effective.
