These instruments areimportant in the assessment of eating and feeding disorders. The objectified body consciousness scale has three subscales:body surveillance, body shame, and control beliefs. Although the two scales had been translated to Turkish before, thepsychometric properties had not been studied in detail.Method: The instruments were adapted to Turkish via the translation and back-translation method. Confirmatory factoranalyses and validity and reliability analyses were conducted. Results: Of the three subscales of the OBCS, control beliefs produced weak values. For the SOQ, item 2 “health” did not loadunder its factor and was eliminated from further analyses. Conclusion: The results suggest that both the OBCS and the SOQ have satisfactory psychometric qualities. Strengths andlimitations of the study have been discussed.eninfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessNörolojik BilimlerPsikiyatriBody imageeating disordersself-objectification questionnairethe objectified body consciousness scaleSex-DifferencesShameExperiencesExtensionWomenTurkish adaptation of the objectified body consciousness scale and the self-objectification questionnaireArticle10.14744/DAJPNS.2019.00031323214226N/AWOS:0004882512000052-s2.0-85073172074TXpJMU16TTJOZz09Q3
