dc.description.abstractBiocomposite materials have started to arouse interest in the manufacturing industry in recent years due to the diversity of natural fibres, easy availability, biodegradability, eco-friendliness, and high thermal stability, mechanical properties, and physical properties. The usage areas of biocomposite materials, in which plant-based and animal-based natural fibres are used as reinforcement, have diversified and become the subject of research. The matrix is an essential component of a biocomposite and the appropriate choice of polymer provides freedom of movement for particular application areas. Vinyl ester, a thermoset polymer, enables the production of advanced composite materials due to its good stiffness, dimensional stability, high resistance to chemicals and environments, higher strength values compared to polyester resins, and lower cost compared to epoxy resins. In this study, it is aimed to obtain general information about the thermal properties such as thermal stability, initial degradation temperature, maximum degradation temperature, heat deflection temperature, and glass transition temperature of natural fibre-reinforced biocomposite materials, in which vinyl ester is used as a matrix. © 2024 The right of Senthil Muthu Kumar Thiagamani, Chandrasekar Muthukumar, Senthilkumar Krishnasamy and Suchart Siengchin.en_US
