Öğe Comparison of emotional status and quality of life in women with different physical activity levels during covid-19 pandemic(Dokuz Eylul Univ Inst Health Sciences, 2021) Kahraman, Buse Özcan; Polat, Karya; Ergin, Gülbin; Karadibak, Didem; Savcı, SemaPurpose: It was aimed to compare the effects of the coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) pandemic process on physically active and inactive women under general quarantine conditions. And second aim was to compare physical activity and general well-being in women who were employees and non-employees in a non-governmental organization. Methods: A total of 286 women were included in this study. The research was conducted online via the Google Forms web survey platform. The demographic information of the participants and non-governmental organization volunteering were asked before the questionnaires. Individuals' levels of physical activity were assessed by International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short form (IPAQ), stress level was assessed The Distress Thermometer index, anxiety levels were assessed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7), quality of life was evaluated with the World Health Organization Quality of Life-Bref questionnaire (WHOQOL-Bref). Results: It was found that physically inactive women had significantly higher anxiety and stress levels and lower quality of life (p<0.05). And women who were employees in a non-governmental organization had significantly higher physically activity level and lower anxiety and stress levels and better quality of life (p<0.05). Conclusion: Physical activity has an intensely positive effect on anxiety, stress, and quality of life during COVID-19 pandemic under general quarantine conditions.Öğe Effectiveness of Kinesio Taping on anastomotic regions in patients with breast cancer-related lymphedema: A randomized controlled pilot study(Mary Ann Liebert, Inc, 2019) Ergin, Gülbin; Sahinoğlu, Ertan; Karadibak, Didem; Yavuzşen, TugbaBackground: The purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of using Kinesio Taping (R) (KT) on anastomotic regions along with complex decongestive physiotherapy (CDP) in patients with breast cancer-related lymphedema (BCRL). Methods and Results: Patients with unilateral BCRL were divided into two groups in this randomized controlled study: Group 1 (CDP, n = 14) and Group 2 (CDP+ KT, n = 18). Assessment of limb size was quantified by using circumferential limb measurements and then calculated for each segment by using the frustum formula. CDP included manual lymphatic drainage, compression bandages, exercises, and skin care. KT was applied to lymphatic anastomosis. All patients received treatment for 1 hour per day, 5 days per week for 4 weeks. The outcome measure was difference in the reduction of limb volumes between the groups. There was a significant difference in both groups before and after treatment (p < 0.05), but there was no significant difference between the two groups regarding changes in limb volume (p > 0.05). Conclusion: The results suggest that applying KT to lymphatic anastomotic regions is not effective in reducing limb volume in the management of BCRL.Öğe Examination of chronic fatigue in patients with coronary artery bypass graft surgery(2020) Ögül, Buse; Ergin, GülbinPurpose: The aim of this study was to examine of chronic fatigue in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery. Methods: The study was carried out with a total of 50 patients undergoing CABG surgery. The questionnaire was filled with socio-demographic characteristics of the patients. The Checklist Individual Strength (CIS) questionnaire for fatigue, The SF-36 questionnaire for the quality of life, the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) for depression, and the 6 minutes walking (6MWT) test for functional exercise capacity were performed Results: The mean age of the patients was 63.54±8,86 years and the BMI was 28.83±3,83 kg/ m2. The mean total CIS score of the patients was 46.18 ± 26.25 and 12% of the patients were above the CIS threshold value of 76 points. A statistically significant correlation was found between the ages of the patients and the scores taken from the CIS-motivation (r = 0.03, p <0.05). It was found a positive correlation between the scores of the BDI and the CIS-total and a statistically significant relationship between the 6MWT results (p<0.05). The age, physical function and mental health subscale scores of the patients were determined to be significantly effective on the CIS total score (p <0.05). Conclusion: In conclusion, age, physical function and mental health are the factors that most affects late period fatigue in patients undergoing CABG.Öğe Fatigue and Assessment Methods in Neurological Disease(İzmir Katip Çelebi Üniversitesi, 2021) Kaya, Gözde; Ergin, GülbinFatigue, which is frequently seen in neurological diseases, is a symptom that restricts the daily life activities of individuals and leads to a decrease in their quality of life. In the subjective evaluation of fatigue, many scales have been developed to investigate dimensions such as the severity of fatigue, its effects on daily life activities, and its social, cognitive, and psychological effects. Scales developed to measure fatigue specific to neurological diseases are inadequate in number. Most of the scales used to evaluate fatigue in neurological diseases have been developed to evaluate fatigue in different populations. Invasive methods and non-invasive physiological tests are used in the objective evaluation of fatigue. Blood test and muscle biopsy are invasive methods which used in the evaluation of fatigue. The need for good muscle activation in evaluating fatigue with non-invasive physiological tests such as electromyography is a factor limiting the use of these methods in neurological diseases. However, the fact that fatigue is a symptom that can exist independently of activity in neurological diseases and its subjective nature shows that objective assessment methods do not provide sufficient information about fatigue in neurological diseases. For these reasons, it is necessary to develop fatigue assessment tools specially developed for neurological diseases, which take into account the nature of the disease, factors affecting fatigue and pathology, and good psychometric properties. Studies on this subject will benefit clinicians and researchers working in the field of neurological rehabilitation.Öğe Karpal tünel sendromlu hastalarda kas kuvvet ve enduransı üst ekstremite fonksiyonlarını etkiler mi?(2020) Keskinköz, Petek Canova; Ergin, Gülbin; Bakırhan, Serkan; Özden, AyşeAmaç: Karpal Tünel Sendromu (KTS) elde duyusal ve motor kayıplar ile ortaya çıkan bir tuzaknöropatisidir.
